The Travel Post #12: Sleeping on a budget with Short Let London

Anyone that knows me, will know that I love spending weekends in London. One of my favourite things about the capital is there is always something new to see and do and with the virgin fast line making it only just over an hour away from Birmingham, it's super easy to hop on a train and into central before you know it. One thing that can be a bit of an issue however, is the cost of staying down there. I am lucky to have plenty of friends living in London but for those who don't it can be really expensive to find a decent hotel with a good location and if any big events are going on at the time when you are visiting it bumps the cost up even more. That's why more and more travellers are moving away from traditional hotels, instead choosing to rent out apartments for their stay.
One company who offers this kind of stay is Short Let London. They offer a choice of budget apartments across the capital for anything from one night to month long stays. Focusing on the central and north London areas the site has over 200 apartments, which all have their own kitchen and bathroom facilities, something which sets them apart from other similar short term lettings sites.
The website is really easy to use and booking is very straightforward - confirmed instantly with no additional booking fees (the dream, right?!)
There is also an online chat window for you to ask questions in real time whilst you are browsing the website - something which an impatient person like me really appreciates! I am definitely a big fan of looking at alternatives sites like this for places to stay and with apartments available for as little as £45 per night it is great for those looking to visit the capital on a budget - if you are quick, they are currently running a giveaway on their Facebook page, where you can win a spooky 2 night sleepover in one of their apartments!

Have you ever used a site like this to book places to stay or are you more a traditional hotel sleeper?
