The Event Post #5: An evening with Elemis

A couple of weeks ago I headed down to Debenhams in the Bullring with a few other local bloggers to spend the evening with the lovely girls from the Elemis counter. During the event we learnt about all the stages that should (there were a few skincare faux pa's amongst us, me included!) make up your everyday skin care routine and were also given the lowdown on which Elemis products would work best for our skin type.

The evening started with some well needed nibbles and a glass of champagne - the perfect medicine after a busy Thursday at work! The lovely Laura and Farida then kicked off the fun and games by asking us some questions about our current routines with spot prizes for those free of skincare sins!

After that we graced our headbands and bibs and got down to some serious cleansing action. The girls explained that it is important to make sure you carry out the three basic 'cleanse, tone and moisturise' steps every morning and night, and they took us through how to carry out our routine at the event by providing us all the Elemis products we needed to carry out our own mini facials.

I choose to test out the Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser, the Balancing Lavender Toner and the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, which all worked together to leave my skin feeling gorgeous!

We then moved onto the exfoliating stage where I opted for the Gentle Rose Exfoliator which is a gel like consistency with Jojoba beads to scrub away any leftover grime. One thing I couldn't believe was how much makeup was still coming off my face, even after cleansing and exfoliating! It definitely opened my eyes to needing to be more thorough with my cleansing routine - the thought of all that leftover makeup building up day after day definitely grosses me out!

The penultimate stage was a face mask and I decided to brave the Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Gel Mask, which Laura warned me would really make my face tingle if I hadn't been so hot with keeping up my routine lately! Luckily for me, I didn't feel any tingling at all (which the Elemis girls assured me was a good sign!) and my skin felt AMAZING afterwards.

Our facials were completed with the anti-aging Absolute Eye Serum, the Advance Brightening Even Tone Serum (apparently anyone over the age of 21 should already be investing in anti-ageing products!) and a final cleanse and moisturise to leave our skin with the ultimate pampered feel!

Baring our freshly cleansed faces!

I had a great time at the event and got to meet lots of lovely new local bloggers including Vanessa from The Other VW, Natasha from Nutella Tasha and of course the lovely Kim from Retail Birmingham. We were also lucky enough to take away a goodie bag filled with samples of the products we tried, one of which was the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm which I am completely converted by! (look out for it in a future post about my new and improved skin care routine!).

Thank you to Retail BirminghamDebenhams and Elemis for inviting me and opening my eyes to the importance of keeping up an effective routine - beautiful, glowing skin I'm coming for ya!
